The pose is the prop
Shoulders, elbows, hips and knees move, so the same six can be a porch band one year and a crowd waving at traffic the next. In the photo two of the tall ones have arms up, one has a guitar across its lap, and the small three sit in front. Bring your own guitar.
Two sizes, one scene
Three at 5.4 feet and three at 3 feet. The tall ones go in back where the street sees them, the small ones sit on the steps or the lawn edge. The height gap is what makes it read as a family instead of a lineup.
Slightly scary, on purpose
Bones, no gore, nothing lunging at anyone. Toddlers stare, older kids pose next to them, and no parent gives you the look. It is the right amount of scary for a house that still wants the walk full of trick-or-treaters at eight.
